Agricultural Steel Buildings

UDM builds direct for farmers as well as for large contractors. Grain stores, livestock housing, machinery and implement sheds, general purpose buildings and re-roofing of existing farm structures.

For farmers and estate managers who need a building that works around livestock, harvest and a yard that stays in use the whole time.

Farm buildings we deliver

No job is too small for us to take seriously — we work on single-bay sheds as well as multi-bay stores.

  • Grain and crop stores
  • Livestock and cattle housing
  • Machinery and implement sheds
  • General purpose and multi-use farm buildings
  • Lean-tos, extensions and extra bays
  • Farm roof replacement, overcladding and repairs
  • Concrete panel walls, Yorkshire boarding and space boarding

Working on a live farm

Our teams are used to stock on site. We sheet and sweep for fixings, keep access lanes clear, phase around feeding and harvest, and keep the yard workable from the first day to the last.

Colours and cladding to suit planning

Juniper and olive greens, merlin greys and goosewing for planning-sensitive sites, plus fibre cement, box profile and insulated panel options depending on the use.

Common questions

Agricultural Buildings FAQs

Do you work direct with farmers?
Yes. A large part of our agricultural work is direct for the farm, not through a main contractor, and we are happy to price single buildings.
Can you build while livestock are on site?
Yes. We plan the works around the stock, control access and are careful with fixings and debris — our farm clients tell us this is what sets us apart.
Do farm buildings need planning permission?
Many agricultural buildings fall under permitted development, but size, siting and use all matter. We provide the drawings and structural information for whichever route applies.
